I am participating for two main reasons. One because we as humans should support eachother, especially those in our community with disabilities. They ( and their families) have to overcome so much in their daily lives. We as a community should do our part to help make it just a little bit easier.
Secondly, this is a personal goal that I set for myself. One year ago I was 113 pounds heavier, completely out of shape and disgusted with myself. I decided to start making healthier lifestyle changes and vowed that I would be able to complete a 5K Walk in one year's time. I've surpassed my first weightloss goal and am working toward my second. It's been quite a journey and I am ready to accomplish my fitness goal!!!
